Estelle Getty, 1923-2008

Sad news today: actress Estelle Getty died today in her California home. She was 84.

Getty is best known for her role as Sophia Petrillo on Golden Girls, a role for which she won an Emmy in 1988. We'll be saying "picture it! Sicily!" all day in her honor. [AP]
