smussy: Apparently the friends are saying that Drew said certain things that were not recorded. Unless they can get it in under a hearsay exception (there are tons), then it is inadmissable. Hearsay exceptions include things like excited utterances and dying declarations. If it isn't on tape, and he didn't actually confess to any crimes, then it is hearsay.

well, they wore a wire ...? wouldn't that mean they got it on tape? when i saw this on the front page of the S-T today (another hit for me and the S-T? bad ass Obama and now this? the world really IS coming to the end!), i was thrilled. maybe they really will catch him. i thought that them 'wearing a wire' meant that the police set him up and they were listening in, making this official evidence. god, i hope so.

If none of these statements were on tape, then it is hearsay and not admissable. If this guy is smart enough to kill several wives and get away with it, he is not going to shoot off at the mouth to even his friends.
