And honestly Tilda, as F*cked up as this sounds. My motto is if you gonna steal, can the poor folks at least get something too? We don't want real leadership in this state. If we then Pat Quinn would be governor. I just refuse to get all "wilded out" over Blago. The only governor that has ever even pretended to care about poor folks Oh and as far as your letters to the editor go, the only Hendon that can read is probably his son doing life for murder. Spook: You are right about other people sharing blame, but you fail to note that Blago has shown an inability to actually lead and/or govern, which would seem a prime skill for his job. First of all, the state is broke cause of a bunch of crooks (not just Blago) and even more stupid Red Eye Reading Greedy people more concerned with "da Cubs" and "Da Bears" and "Da bulls" than what’s going on in this state! Mic check one, two! It took more than a few politicians to steal this state into the red. Go look at Ward Up and Fed Up’s boy Rickey Hendon, stealing from the public schools for how long? And he aint the only one! Heck General Urko aka Emile Jones, Mike Madigan, Daley,George Ryan,etc, etc, etc,etc have been stealing since hector was a pup! And we have been letting them do it with impunity. And do you really think Blago is the cause of the rising unemployment rate? Are you gonna blame him for the gas prices? Come on yo! What's going on in Springfield is (as my granma use to say) “thieves fell out” because Blago won't play ball. He wants to stand out in the "public" instead of playing ball in the smoky back room! Yea maybe his tossing crumbs to poor folk is injurious to the state’s economy, but if the others didn’t steal so much, those crumbs wouldn’t make a difference. I love how its o.k. for US to have health/ dental care but poor folks can't cause we gotta be "fiscally responsible"! So step off Tilda! And were is the out rage over the legislature's pay raise? Yes friends and nieghbors Ricky "Hollywood" Hendo is getting a raise! If you think this state would be managed any better with Judy bar, then you done lost you cotton pick'n mind Flava Flave! Giannoulias has already set up an exploratory committee from what I hear. He is def in the ring. Also: I agree with Spook. Also: There is a lot to be said for the gov actually living in the Mansion, having the legislators over from drinks or whatever, getting a drink at Sammy's. This is where the real business is done. Think: Gov. Arnold's smoking tent outside the capital in Sacramento. More is probs accomplished there than under the dome. Sayin'.

And as a result, it’s kinda sad, because you really need a two-party system to keep everybody honest. Yeah, that's why both the Illinois Democratic and Republican parties have stopped at nothing to keep any third party off the ballot. Gotta keep that status quo. Nothing to hide in this honest system, move along. Governor Ryan isn't the only reason Republicans were twisting in the wind, remember the token black guy they got to run against Obama? The insane train wreck: Alan Keyes. He's crazy, way to extremist for even Illinois' most conservative conservatives, he doesn't even live here but.............hey, he's black.

Judy, was another career politican who would have done little for the state, Blago was a hack and everyone should have been aware of that by 2006 but thanks to his ability to sell state jobs and contracts he bought the election. Having a boob like Bush in the white house has hurt many states GOP. Spook you have been strangely silent on your buddy ricky hendons latest press. ypur past stories of gardens in engelwood didnt involve state grant money did they.

Yeah, Spook, those poor people sure will come out smelling like roses when this state goes broke, and the jobless level increases even more, and the roads, trains and buses break down even more, and taxes go up to deal with our decreasing bond ratings and increasing debts (including for health care), and social service budgets are gutted, all thanks in LARGE part to the ego and mistakes of Blago (and others as well, of course, but he is the decider in chief, right?). Can you even frame an argument anymore without your pitiful attempts at personal insult (happy meal crack)? I mean, it's not even funny.

Then she proceeded to destroy Quinn's programs that invested in underserved communities in Illinois amd she wasn't even warmed up. Please, I hate to speak for poor folks instead of down at them, but since no one else will, Blago as corrupt as he is had done more for poor families and kids then any other politican in Illinois, health care, earned income tax credit, seniors on buses, etc. So put that "moderate member of the GOP" stuff in your laffer curve and smoke it

You got some facts wrong. In 2006, Blago was already the incumbent governor and was running for reelection against Topinka. Blago was first elected governor in 2002, defeating Republican Attorney General Jim Ryan. He has been screwing things up for almost six years now. When elected governor, Blago was a member of the US House of Representatives - first elected in 1996. He distinguished himself by being the only Illinois Democrat to vote in favor of the invasion of Iraq. He only served one term in the Illinois House - from 1992-96.
