I had a crazy guy pull a gun on me at Fullerton once, for no reason. He was just wandering up and down the platform getting in random people's faces, and then pulled out a gun, or what appeared to be a gun. I did the Jurassic Park thing and just sat there stone still, like he couldn't see me, lol.

I notice that none of the news stories have mentioned anything about Daniel McKenzie. What a brutal way to go. I guess I am curious (no sarcasm) about this person who was attacked. What is his story? What family has he left behind? Just wondering.

It must be a slow day on second city cop spook, so chicagoist gets the spillover. There have been more than a few times when I've moved away from the edge of the platform when some crazy ass looking mf's have been skulking around.

Smussy, it doesn't take a crazy person (or a criminal). My mother witnessed a man faint and fall forward into a crowd of people waiting for the train. He didn't fall but he knocked a woman onto the tracks. Luckily they switched the power off before the train got her. Since then, I hate standing with the rush hour crowd.

i get paranoid like that too, smussy. i keep a good distance between me and the edge of the platform, even as the train approaches...a part of me also fears snapping and pushing someone else off the edge. i can't do another nickle in the joint.

sometimes, i get paranoid and wonder if some crazy person will try and push me onto the tracks. sometimes, i then look around to see if there would be anything i could hold on to if that happened. i know. i'm weird.

Navin have you noticed that the few times you actually agree with Vermin, its only a matter of time before he crosses that line to the point were you end up regreting joking with him? Its like laughing it up with him, all the while knowing that the white hood is gonna fall out of his back pocket sooner rather than later

That's classy that you insult the victim, Vermin (4 honor students) why do you lump him in with the three young attackers? Because an older man by himself will generally pick fights with groups of 3 young tough looking dudes on deserted El platforms at 2am? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Haha, yeah!!! The Sisters! I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but prison is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - prison life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Andy would show up with fresh bruises. The Sisters kept at him - sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Andy - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him.

They will plea down to at least 2nd degree unless the prosecution can prove that the homicide was premeditated. Which it obviously was not by the freak nature.

Imagine what they were arguing about. A slight, a physical gesture, a woman, a rude comment? They'll spend the bulk of their lives in jail. In the cell they inhabit should be carved four simple words. "Was It Worth It?
