Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is suing Lester Cohn of Pure DV Productions in Gurnee for unsatisfactory work, and for holding footage of the artist hostage. Cohn was hired by Corgan to take video of the singer while on a solo tour between 2003 and 2005. Now Corgan claims that the parts of the recordings he's seen are unprofessional and substandard, and wants to abort mission. Per the Trib,
…Cohn allegedly has provided only a portion of the footage, which Corgan said in the suit "was completely unsatisfactory and not completed in a professional, workmanlike manner in accordance with the standards of a music filmmaker."Cohn misrepresented his filmmaking expertise and does not deserve the money he was paid, Corgan said in the suit.
Corgan is seeking $100,000 in damages and the release of the remaining footage back to him. [Trib]

That's funny, cuz I feel that Billy's output in the last 10 years is completely unsatisfactory and has not been completed in a professional, workmanlike manner in accordance with the standards of a musician.
Relevant or not, this boils down to a wronged consumer issue, no?
Does this mean that people should sue Billy for purchasing tickets to the FINAL SMASHING PUMPKINS CONCERT EVAR!!!! at the Metro back in 2004? (Or whenever it was?)
This guy: I think "Workmanlike" is a perfect description of Corgan's music for the past 10 years.

I was at a show years ago where Billy wouldn't approve the photos because "they made him look fat." Um, Billy, it wasn't the photos...
I wish everyone would stop talking about Billy Corgan. Then he might go away, and maybe some memory-eraser product can come out and I could erase all post Siamese Dream SP related memories from my head.
