Holy crap, yes the mega rolls are huge... but the ones I've had are delicious and, once you figure out how to eat them, can be a mean in and of themselves.

I often have the same complaint about rolls, but for some reason always forgive Sushi X.

And not only did we punch that five-o in the face, we stomped a mudhole in its ass and walked it dry.

Surprised I still have all my fingers.

ehem. and i shall.

As my dearest friend "X" put it.... "I want to punch that five-o roll in the face, that's
how good it looks!"

Bless her.

Mega. Next time we shall engage the mega.
And yes, at times i had to cover my mouth because their was so much food in it, but... so?

Egads, it was BACON on sushi! Little Miss Manors is not invited.

I love this place. Doesn't have mush of a decor, but I'll even sit in the projector's view for the great sushi.

I love that they're in, like, an old garage or whatever that building is.

Good sushi though. Better for delivery than sit down, imo.

Chuck:
The mega menu may have been what I ordered from.

I presume you've been to "House of Sushi and Noodles" on Belmont? Some damn HUGE sushi there. It can be hit or miss but the buffet lets you be a bit picky.

I had gripes about the dining area size until I ate at Ringo on Lincoln Av. Creeping Jesus. Put 20 tables in your living room and open business. That's what it's like.
At least the food is good. The rolls are overstuffed, but I'd rather have overstuffed than overriced.

Albanyparkour: I think one's "overstuffed" might be another's "Baby Bear/Just right." Another qualm I have with Sushi bars is the portion size. In some places, the rolls look downright anemic.

They were certainly huge rolls (those pictured were from the "Neo" menu) so I shudder to think at the size of the "Mega" rolls.

One of others I visited Sushi X with alst night wrote and mentioned that the miso and edamame were also included in the bill. The latter serving was enormous.

That person can interject further details here anytime.

Sushi X was the fist sushi I had when I moved to Chicago. When I lived down on Division/Paulina we used to order from the Sushi X Chicago Ave location all the time... I don't remember any bacon roll, though... which means I need to go back because I haven't ordered from them for years. I've never actually been *inside* only have gotten delivery. Also, the wasabi mashed potatoes are awesome!

Chuck,

Did you find that the rolls felt a bit overstuffed? I've been there a few times, good quality fish, very decent prices, but the more "specialty" rolls felt over-filled.

And did you try the wasabi mashed potatoes? Oddly tasty. Very "fusion" but still good eats.

I live in their delivery radius over in "West Town"

That's an interesting take on sushi, kind of American fusioned. Always wondered how that place was...thanks!
