Time to Sit Back and Unwind

It's still pretty damn hot today, but with the dew point at 65 degrees, it's feeling even stickier and sweatier. There's a good chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, as a storm system moves into the Midwest from Manitoba, which will be followed by more hot weather as a warm front moves across the Plains towards us. Highs will be close to 90 the rest of this week and weekend, and Monday looks like it's going to be the hottest day of the year so far.

This month has been particularly sunny, coming in with nine percent more sunshine than usual, which is a welcome relief after a cloudy first half of '08. December and March were both 15 percent less sunny than normal. [NWS, AccuWeather, WGN]
