The trade-off is that the city and close-in suburbs will finally get some of the relief they desperately need after having been strangled by train traffic for years. In addition, the ability to bypass the congestion near the metropolitan core and move trains faster through the area has the potential to enhance the area's competitive standing and create jobs.

Blue Island is the biggest R.R. clusterfxxx there is around IMO. The city will be a ghost town if this affects them. No one in, no one out.

This should be done, and the outer suburbs should use their tax dollars to build grade-separated crossings, just like the inner burbs and Chicago did 80-100 years ago.
