Margaret, you're also forgetting that you can only carry 100 lbs back to your wagon! So no matter how satisfying the hunt, (4 buffalo!!!) you will leave like 4000 pounds behind because your Oregon Trail character is too dumb to bring a wheelbarrow along. Of course, even if you did have a wheelbarrow a fire would probably break out and kill Marnie, Louis, and destroy exactly 34 boxes of bullets and one axle. Then a thief will come and take three pairs of clothing. And don't get me started on the dysentery. Man, Oregon Trail was like the best game ever.

Is that legal? Just because the Buffalo's had become a problem doesn't mean you can just shoot them. What if the farm had a bunch of dogs that had escaped? Would they have just shouldered the ol' 30-aught and started blasting away? Sounds like a buffalo meat operation, so can these animals be used for slaughter being that they were harvested essentially as game? As the bison (I'm guessing that they where bison not buffalo) is native to IL, is the owner hunting out of season? I grew up in MI in a rural areas and when a cow would get out it was a big deal to get it under control before it injured itself or someone. The person who owned the cattle wanted them back alive as they are worth money, several hundred hundred dollars a head. Sorry of the string of questions above.
