true, one would assume a tapeworm would have to be in there for quite some time to reach 9ft. Besides don't most places have things on their menu that basically say "eat raw/under cooked meat at your own risk," which techinically means they can't be sued?

Ok...the show was from Animal Planet and it's called "Eaten Alive". Go to Youtube and type in: Eaten Alive !! - Bugs Eating People from the Inside Out This is the show that you are all describing. And if this doesn't give you the heebie jeebies...nothing will!!!!

Speaking of Discovery reenactments, there was also the one with the woman who complained of bugs in her scalp to the disbelief of the ER doctor, until one stuck its head out of a hole in her head. Whee! She could hear them moving around in there.

Maybe the man just went on the tapeworm diet: http://www.tapewormdiet.net/ I would really wonder how the guy knew that he got the tapeworm from Shaw's, especially that it takes a while for the eggs (which I am guessing he ingested) to develop into a tapeworm that is 9 feet long. What if he had sushi days, or even months before that. Sounds, uh, fishy to me. Fun fact: A tapeworm can live in the body for over 20 years. Now back to my lunch...

My favorite is a reality documentary renactiment show about parasites, that was on Discovery or the like, and that showed a reanactment of a hot girl taking a dump, and a worm came out. It wasn't big, but that was quite an image.

There was a show I watched on tv a while ago...I think it was called "Eaten Alive"...about how parasites can get into you body and can live there for years undetected....it's what happens to you when they become apparent when it gets really scary. This show was horrifying. If you can find it, watch it. You will never swim in the Amazon after watching this show.

What, no photos? How long does it take for a tapeworm to reach 9 feet? I suspect it takes weeks/months/years? If so, good luck trying to prove the salmon at Shaws was to blame. Who is to say he didn't have a bite of undercooked pork somewhere?
