We have to hand it to The Hideout, those cats know how to throw a party. What began as an affair populated mostly by local bands friendly to the bar has expanded to become one of the most inventively and entertainingly booked local festivals of the year.
We've just learned they've expanded an already stellar line-up -- including Neko Case, The New Pornographers, Monotonix, Dark Meat, The Uglysuit, Robbie Fulks, and The New Pornographers -- with newly announced acts Rhymefest (who will lead the entire audience in the "Zombie Dance" from "Thriller"), Giant Sand, and a DJ set from Hercules & Love Affair. Whoa!
Get your tickets now since this is the best line-up we've seen and previous years have completely sold out.
The Hideout Block Party is September 20 and 21, is located at 1354 W Wabansia, all ages, single day tickets still available
The full line-up with set-times appears after the jump.

I'll be going, and this IS a good lineup, but best-lineup-ever honors have to go to the Touch and Go Anniversary edition of the block party, in 2006. It's been two years, and I'm still recovering.
But will the New Pornographers be playing?
Yes, it says so in two separate places above...
I think BW was being sarcastic, tankboy.
woosh!
(top of head)
There are times when I really hate living in Bangladesh. This is one of them, although I have to agree that the Touch and Go lineup was even better.
I think in terms of historic awesomeness the T&G block party was tops, but this year's does such an excellent job of mixing acts both brand new and already established I think it's a testament to the Hideout's booking acumen.
Sunday night with Ratatat, and Hercules and Love Affair will be a fun time.
I'm Eh on the lineup. . .I still think its cheap to have a headliner of Neko Case on the first eve and a headliner of the New Pornographers the second eve. . .Anyone else feel like its a one for the price of two deal?
lamgray, you say is this cheap? well, yeah it's $45 for two days and the rest of the lineup not withstanding you're getting two entirely different acts in neko case and the new pornographers. not to mention, when the NP's rolled into town in April, neko case had just been hurt at the show prior and was absent. i would say 'cheated ' is the last thing i feel when reading this lineup!!
