Oprah’s Fake Eyelashes Become Casualties of Obama’s Tear-Jerker Speech

The Oprah Effect” hit its pinnacle last night as Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination, and Oprah Winfrey, who has long endorsed him, was in Denver to celebrate. Oprah watched among the crowd of 84,000 at Invesco Field and was moved to tears, so much so that her fake eyelashes couldn’t take the floods. “I cried my eyelashes off,” Oprah was quoted as saying.

Oprah has been sporting faux lashes forever, and considering it’s not uncommon for her to tear up on her show, it must have taken some serious waterworks to loosen that glue. Reiterating the affect Obama’s speech had on her, Oprah stated, "I think it's the most powerful thing I have ever experienced." She later added, "He's not an African-American candidate. He's a candidate for Americans." [WBBM]

Ironic as O'bama accussed McCain of being surronded by celebraties, when the convention was a celebration of who's who instead of "the people"

Spook- did you miss the regular people talking before Obama ?

You mean the ones they bussed in for show?
