I'm kicking myself for not getting this the other day in St Louis - picked up some local brews and from O'Fallon got their 5 Day IPA instead. oh well, at least now I know I can get the porter here. thanks!

indeed,McThirsty

Chucky always comes across as as a midwest "noveux riche type" beer connoisseur who hangs out at the maproom on Saturday nighs, he drinks many beers but lacks the earthy understanding of the Goddess.

p.s
Chuck, next time your at the Maproom steal a few Chimay glasses

The above,Matildatilltillmoe
is the one point you will ever score upon me. But fret not yo, I'm actually learning to drink scotch like James Bladwin, Tennessee Williams, and Churhchill.

so in this worthwhile cause I've just purchased a bottle of Balvenie Double Wood Single Malt 12 year old Scotch. I anticipate being a card carrying member by late winter. And by that time I will deny that this conversation ever took place.

regards,

S

Fairly certain this is a great beer, but can we trust the reviewer when he serves his beer in a vessel that most likely saw its best days at the Hollywood Grill? I'd think the aroma (for starters) would come off better in a proper pint glass.

Be a man, Spook, and just drink Scotch, single malt, no more than two small rocks if you must.

Goose Island, though, has a great similar beer, as do a few others, including some from Scotland whose names escape me.

Got something even better for ya Chuckdiddy,
Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout, son! Its 13 percent alcohol aged in a bourbon barrel for like a year!

Hope you enjoy it because it’s likely that this will be my first and last case. I brought it with no idea that it was brewed by "Walter Payton's Roundhouse"! As if Payton (or any other football player) new/knows any thing about beer. I bet Payton drank wine coolers. And the beer has his old number 32 or 34, what ever it was on it. How cheesy is that!

Love the beer, but can't abide by the stupid sports link. I think I'm gonna have to go back to Rasputin Imperial Stout, unless you know of something else at or above 13 percent?

It's a great, smoky beer. Some people I know find it too smoky, but to me it was grand. If you find this too smoky, I would suggest New Glarus' Smoke on the Porter if you can find it. Personally I like the New Glarus better, but it was just because it had a better depth of flavor.

Also, this beer would make an excellent smoked porter cheesecake.
