Stay Smoooooth.

2008_09_staysmooth_X.jpgWe love the Yacht Rock. We love the smooth jams. And we've loved this crap since we were kids in the '80s addicted to Kenny Loggins' appearance on what seemed like every single movie soundtrack in existence. As we grew older we also learned to incredible power Toto's "Africa" can exert over a dance floor, and that Steve Perry -- solo or with Journey -- can provide a direct route into the pants of your dance partner. Smooth is strong.

So imagine how our collective head exploded when we heard about the Stay Smooth "cruise" happening this weekend at the Columbia Yacht Club. Hood Internet DJ STV SLV and Life During Wartime founder Bald Eagle will be manning the 8-tracks, and Blake Smith of The Prairie Cartel has put together a live band to cover some of those classic soft rock monsters.

But that's not all!

The hosts of the evening are Hollywood Steve and Hunter Stair (Kenny Loggins) of Yacht Rock, and they'll be screening the entire series! And did we mention the open bar that comes with the price of admission? Whoah, what a night.

Since we're so loving this concept we want to bring one of you on board for free, so enter after the jump for your chance at two tickets to Stay Smooth. Although with something this cool, maybe you should just buy tickets and you can scalp 'em when you win ours.

Stay Smooth X: Overboard! is Saturday, September 6 at Columbia Yacht Club, 111 Lake Shore (Monroe Harbor, Downtown Chicago), 7 p.m. – 11p.m., $40 ($40 (includes well drinks and beer), 21+

P.S. BACON!
