- In an attempt to save $40 million, the CTA will cut 80 jobs and cut back on overtime. The 2009 CTA budget will have a deficit of $66 million. And, just to remind you, Gov. Blagojevich's decision to give free rides to senior citizens and low-income disabled passengers will cost the CTA about $30 million annually. Bring on the Olympics!
