So from my understanding, bookbags are okay but purses aren't? What the fuck? You really need an entire purse just to carry small feminine products around for a few days a month? I hope you're kidding. If not, you really need to get a girlfriend. Girls need to get brave and just lay them out on their desks on top of their books. Great idea for a non-violent protest. I would go one step further and suggest getting the boys involved too, but I doubt that more than a minority of them would care.

ob *is* great, however ... the 'other things' ... like a clamshell (man, there's no getting out of that one) pack of birth control pills, guys! although, it's sort of weird that kim reppa is already gearing up for her daughter to be sexing it up at college. you -can- use bcp's for acne, but let's face it, it's really the way to go if you don't want yourself some unwanted accidents. i guess i can see the usefulness of hiding a gun in a backpack or purse (!?), but drugs? everyone knows you keep that shit close to the vest. duh.

Tampons also, just due to their length, dont' typically fit in a pocket without getting all smooshed, which is no good. also: TAMPONS! MAXIS WITH WINGS! MENSTRUATION!!!

Joe Blow: It's more for getting the "small feminine products" from A (in this case, the locker) to B (the bathroom). Sometimes those extra-exorbitant pads just don't fit in the jeans pocket.

What this creates is bullshit for the dudes. Guys will now have carry around tampons in addition to keys and money/ID for the chicks. Next thing you know we'll have a woman as a VP. Then they will want to have jobs and college educations. Then guys will stay at home and raise the kids. Testicles will become key chains (that guys will have to carry in their "woman pocket"). Wars will stop and we will all pee sitting down. No, no, no, this is all wrong.

They're not allowed to use backpacks at school? How does one get by in high school without a backpack? Where do you get around with your books, cell phone and chapstick? I suppose next they'll ban pockets...or gun sized pockets. And they had definitely better stock feminine hygiene items in the bathrooms.

I'm totally with you rcltrh! If the media is too embarrassed to say TAMPON or MAXI PAD then the students can protest by carrying them out in the open. They aren't breaking any rules. Wave them around, be proud of being a girl who is menstruating. Embarrass the school officials and teachers into allowing them to have some sort of purse.
