It's not the lack of a robots.txt file, it's that the Trib & a lot of other newspapers have used software that automatically updates the date on the site at midnight, but they don't put the date into the article itself, right under the writer's name or an AP, Reuters or AFP byline. I complained to them several years ago about that & they didn't seem to understand what the problem was.
