What American Food Holiday Were You Born On?

Did you know that there's a food or drink you should be celebrating each and every day? This morning we at Chicagoist poured over this list that declares each day of the year National (Insert Delicious Indulgence Here) Day, marking our calendars with excuses to break our diets.

We also loved the idea that in a sense we were each born on a holiday. I was born on National Blueberry Pie Day. Kinda boring, but others had better luck like Lauri, who was born on Peanut Cluster Day. We don't know exactly what that is but it sounds delicious.

I would have rather been born on:
February 10 - Cream Cheese Brownie Day
May 6 - National Crepe Suzette Day, or
October 9 - Submarine-Hoagie-Hero-Grinder Day, natch.

August 3 is a bit of wink-wink, being that it's National Grab Some Nuts Day. You mean like almonds?

What's your Foodiversary?

Well, whaddaya know. I was born on Crepe Suzette day. Jealous?

Awww heck yeah, Lager Day!

I win (or is that lose?) with March 30: Turkey Neck Soup Day.

Whiskey Sour Day. Pretty good. But it's no Pots de Creme Day.

i get two?! ice cream day and junk food day. oh snap!

I'm going to change my birthday. I want National Vodka Day or National Blueberry Popsicle day.

My birthday sucks.

Dude. Mine sux.

Apricot day.

Does it get worse?

Stolpman:

I got Lima Bean Respect Day ... WTF is that?

RESPECT THE LIMA BEAN!

What a goofy combo I get...

National Gazpacho day
Microwave Oven day

Don't really get to use both at once

I was born on National Plum Pudding Day.....so, yeah, gross.

YES! I got National Sangria Day!

If you don't like your day - be sure to go check the months and weeks - sometimes they're more satisfying. I got national Potato day (ugh) but October is National Popcorn Poppin' Month!

Escargot Day??? WTF??? That's not even American or nuthin'... Son of a....

National Lobster Appreciation Day...welp, now I know what I am going to be asking for every year from now on.

Here, Laura, you can have some of my Lobster...keep the apricot. ;D

Thanks for the tip Anthony... But it's still a mixed bag: One the one hand it's National Barbecue Month, but on the other it's National Asparagus Month, but on the other hand it's national Chocolate Custard Month, but on the other it's National Gazpacho Aficionado Month (?), but on the other hand it's National Hamburger Month, but on the other my birthday week is International Pickles Week. Um... Yay?

National Blueberry Pancake Day.

I kinda celebrated blueberries on my B-Day, by getting properly sauced on Stoli Blu & Tonics. ;-)

Although I can fit into the mold of the week being "Irish Coffee Week". Jameson is another good friend of mine.

Holy sweetness! I was born on National Corn Fritters Day!!!

Just as I thought - January birthdays STILL suck.

Ew. National Noodle Ring Day. Gross.

At least I was also born during National Lager Week:)

jmagic - Okay, you got me beat. Lima beans are teh suxor.

Matty - Woo! You got the best one. Pass that lobster.

BOOYAH - saved by the monthly celebrations. National Candy Month and National Meat Month.

Mmmm...candy and meat.

This is bullshit. I'm chocolate mint day. wtf is chocolate mint day? I eat neither chocolate nor mints. And the worst of it is that I'm right in between national wine day and national margarita day. I'm writing my congressperson. I deserve a drunken holiday.

@BeeRockafeller

Frango mints? Thats what comes to mind

@celerysalt

I totally feel you on the fellow January B-day. I was born in the middle of a blizzard.

My brother is so blessed to get May 5th as his birthday, so even if no party is planned he can just walk into one.

SCORE! "National Chocolate Covered Anything Day"

Fuck AND Yes. This year, it shall include my testicles.

HFB: how on earth are you going to eat that?

i get fucken Weinerschnitzel Day. traditional German/Austrian food sucks.

National Pasta Day & Four Prunes

hmm I'll take the pasta day but prunes?!

@Shannon:

Oh, *I'm* not going to eat it... Spook is.

And weinerschnitzel is awesome. I have no idea what you're talking about.

Well, I do enjoy it, so Lemon Meringue Pie Day ain't so bad. And I'm cool with Catfish/Peach/Brownies at Brunch month as well..

yumm, national sticky bun day!

May 13 - Fruit Cocktail day...y'all better look out 'cause come my birthday I'll be loookin' for some cocktail...FRUIT!
