I leave chicago for at least two weeks in February, no matter what. I like to call it the wasted month.

Right around the end of December when depression starts hitting hard, I remind myself every day that December 22 the days start getting LONGER!!! That little shred of hope in the form of minute by minute day by day light helps get me through every year. Right now I can hear the cicadas and even though they are harbingers of summer's end, don't you just love that sound?
