Mayor Daley says Monday's shooting of a city employee who was booting a car is an isolated incident, and that booters don't need to go back to working in two-person teams. Earlier this year, the Department of Revenue switched to solo missions, with employees driving van equipped with cameras rather than working in crews.
Daley said booters aren't the only ones working alone, pointing to solitary postal employees. When a reporter said postal workers generally work at a nonconfrontational job carrying mail people want, Daley disagreed."He brings bills," the mayor said.
Zing! Sort of! The Mayor added that the number of guns on the streets is also a major factor in workers' safety. [S-T]

The guns operate a factory now?
When the postal worker starts repossessing stuff in those bills or shutting of the cable-gas-phone-electricity then there will be parity. I wish I could have seen this guy in the court room cross examining a difficult witness.
If the booters are unarmed, what difference would it make? Chances are someone who sees nothing wrong with shooting one DOR employee would see nothing wrong with shooting his/her partner as well.
Can't say I'm upset about a booter getting shot.
But boy, the stupidity of Daley never ceases to amaze me. I cannot understand how people take him seriously.
