Police Examing Security Footage In Aurora Disappearance

Aurora police are examining surveillance footage from a grocery store two sisters, Patricia (14) and Maria Chavez (4), visited shortly before they disappeared last night. The footage shows a man following the girls through the store for several minutes. Police showed the video to the girls' mother, Zulema Pena, who said there was, "a man following them, someone right behind them. Following for 10 minutes." Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said, "It's really hard to tell if his movements could be considered suspicious. That's certainly something we're aware of and we're looking at."

The girls (pictured above) headed to El Paso Grande around 6 p.m. to get yogurt but never returned home. After hours of searching, family members called police around 11:15 p.m. The girls father, Jesus Chavez, who is separated from their mother, said the girls were not with him and helped in last night's search. "I have nothing but God to help me here...I am praying to God."

UPDATE: Police say both girls have returned home safely.

FYI the linked article has been updated, as of a few minutes ago, to show that the girls have been located and appear to be unharmed. As a father of 3 I am always shaken up by stories of missing children, so it's nice to see one that ends well.
