To the fans: act like you've been there (the firs round of the playoffs I mean, which you have). A few high fives and celebratory beers are OK.

This is my favorite part of watching sports...fans. The emotion management, the attempts to contain all that pent up jock-love. It's like watching a gay kid from the bible belt hit the dance floor at Berlin for the first time. So much conflict!

The tension is terrible, I hope it lasts.

They may not be at home for the clincher.

Has that ever stopped the moron contingent of Cub fans from flocking to the TV cameras that descdend on Clark and Addison right after the last pitch?

Obligatory scenes: Newsperson getting jostled by drunk guys pushing their way toward the camera; scene inside a generic bar (more than likely the Cubby Bear or Bernie's) as the last out is made (after a montage of reaction shots capturing the high and lows of the game); people lining up the next day (or the day after) to buy playoff tickets.

If the first inning of today's game is an indication...

They may not be at home for the clincher.

Ouch

To the fans: act like you've been there (the firs round of the playoffs I mean, which you have). A few high fives and celebratory beers are OK. Save the madness for the world series. And PLEASE ignore the tv cameras that camp out in front of the ballpark tonight after the Brewers lose(?). Don't come running out of your house just to get on television. YOu look like idiots. Seriously.

I read elsewhere that the Cubs would be at a private party to watch the game together - I doubt you'll see any in the street tonight.

Odds are very good that the division will be wrapped up at home. Go Cubs!
