the time zone thing is definitely screwy, but is also a legitimate issue. nw indiana pretty much needs to be on central time because so many of their workers commute to illinois & get their media from here. southern indiana is in similar situations around louisville, ky & evansville, in. the problem is for the people in the rest of the state. because indiana is on the far western side of the eastern time zone, it stays light out in the summer past 10pm... that's a big difference to people that had it another way for the majority of their life. it annoys the hell out of me when i go home to visit my parents! it used to be summer was on central & winter was on eastern... seems strange, but it worked. michigan has the same summertime issue, but they've always been on eastern time & have adjusted their lifestyles accordingly. indiana's slow to adjust & i don't blame them. either way, one time zone or multiple, a large portion of the state is going to lose.

Pretty sure Ebert had his tongue firmly planted in his cheek.

Oops, probably an unfortunately cliché to use with Ebert, but I can't think of another one...

That time zone thing is obnoxious. When I was at Notre Dame, we'd switch from Central time to Eastern...then back to Central. It's ridiculous because it really would be two different times in the state which is just dumb unless the state is massive. And...it isn't.

Wow... I'm with yummyveg. I never thought Ebert would be a creationist. He always seems so "liberal" everywhere else.
