Lou Piniella has set the rotation for the Cubs playoff series which starts Wednesday. Ryan Dempster gets the call in game one on Wednesday followed by Carlos Zambrano in game two. Rich Harden will start game three and Ted Lilly will start game four (if necessary). Jason Marquis will work out of the bullpen. Said Lou, "I said before I announced any pitcher that I had confidence in all four of my starters, so all games are equally important, and we chose to go this way. Everybody's got to do their job now."

Weekend Diversion: Night Of The Ponies

The Cubs have such a great rotation that even their fourth starter (Lilly) had two near no-hitters within the past couple weeks. If the Cubbies face Miwaukee in the playoffs, man, that's hard to not have Lilly start--as he rocks the Miller Park.
The Cubs rotation produced 2 pitchers with 17 wins this season and neither of them were Zambrano. That's pretty damn impressive. Most lefty wins for a Cub pitcher since Ken Holtzman. I hope game 4 isn't necessary but if it is I hope Lilly brings it they way he has lately.
