Well, to be clear, I never said she did. All she did was inquire about it. Twice. But that was just "rhetorical." Like "voluntary" I think the word "rhetorical" is a tad misunderstood by those in power. What is there to "inquire" about? Banning books from a public library is the action of a thug. If you're confused on the topic you shouldn't be mayor, or on a town council or allowed near sharp things.

I'm no fan of Sarah Palin, but I am a proponent of the truth, so I think it's worth noting that she never actually tried to ban any books. She's still super scary, but let's at least try and rise above the dissemination of false information.

My favorite challenged book on the current list? "And Tango Makes Three" Thick-skulls try to ban it because it features same-sex parents. Same-Sex PENGUIN parents. Don't worry, Sarah Palin will save us from such filth and depravity.

Twilight? Meh. It's not so good. A bit like Anne Rice and Buffy with all the character drained (ha!) out of it. She wrote a pretty solid sci-fi book called "The Host" but Twilight is just bleh. The most frequently challenged book of my youthful generation? Scary Stories by Alvin Schwartz, makes a much better, scarier read on autumn nights.
