Chicagoist at the White Sox Clincher
We were fortunate to score tickets to last night's play-in game between the Sox and Twins. John Danks pitched a gem of a game: a two-hit, eight-inning performance that had the "piranhas" stymied. I don't know how the "blackout" looked on television, but in person it was nothing short of mesmerizing. I did see at least four fans who made the unfortunate decision to paint their faces black; no one ever said common sense and sports mix well.
The win marks the first time since 1906 that both the White Sox and Cubs were in the playoffs together. Regardless of where your allegiance lies, this is an amazing thing to savor.

Nice pics! Wish I could have been there... instead was stuck at Rosh Hashanah dinner. Even Mom's brisket doesn't make up for missing that. Hell, I didn't even get to watch the game until the 7th inning...

I'm a cubs fan, but even i have to admit, i liked the final out better than the Cubs. A diving catch by the White Sox's 1st round pick Brian Anderson versus Jim Edmonds lazy fly.

Not a Sox fan (Tigers...yes, I'm crying), but how many teams does New York have in the post-season? Oh right, none. How many teams does Los Angeles have? Oh wait, I guess two. But The Los Angeles Angels/Halos of Anaheim and Greater Orange County shouldn't really count, I say ;)
