James Bond in Chicago?

2008_10_1jamesbond.jpgUpdate: Sorry, guys. The CIFF has officially denied the new Bond is showing here.

The interwebs are boiling with rumors that the new 007 movie Quantum of Solace will have a sneak screening during the Chicago International Film Festival in a few weeks. And that's all they are at this point: rumors.

However, what we can tell you is there will be a "Surprise Event" on Monday, October 27 at the Music Box at 8 p.m. and tickets for that go on sale Friday. Director Marc Forster has had two previous features (Stranger Than Fiction and The Kite Runner) showcased at CIFF and a "good source" has revealed that stars "Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko and Jeffrey Wright would be in Chicago sometime in October." None of that may add up to a hill of beans ... but then again, a ticket is only $12 so what have you got to lose?

Quantum of Solace opens nationwide on November 14. We were a little dubious about the new Jack White/Alicia Keys song at first, but it's been growing on us.

I'd love to see James Bond filmed in Chicago.

Tickets to the surprise event don't go on sale until Friday.

Actually, as per our update and the other post we added, the CIFF has officially denied the rumor.
