Elgin High School student Jill Howe, 15, learned this week that not everyone is up to date on the Cubs' roster. Howe was wearing a Fukudome jersey when a school administrator stopped her in the hall. Even after Howe explained who Fukudome was and that it wasn't obscene, dean Susan Matei still ordered Howe to take the jersey off and wear a gym shirt to class. Howe informed her mother of the incident and, after a phone call to the school, the misunderstanding was cleared up. Associate Principal Alan Flota said, "As long as it is a legitimate name, they will be allowed to wear it." Well, that's good. Besides, we find Fukudome's .000 postseason batting average way more offensive than any mispronunciation of his name.

My aunt, who teaches at Lyons Township High School made a kid do the same thing with his Fukodome shirt at the beginning of the season.
Kosuke you SUCK!!!
Fuck-you-do-me
Doesn't make sense, but to a high schooler it would be HYSTERICAL.
I took my mom to a Cubs game and she thought the same thing-that it was very offensive. Of course the shirt did say "FUKUDOME: That's what she said".
I thought the "'Fuck You' Dome" was where the government sent all the homeless people from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Are people actually THAT stupid about foreign names?
Oh wait...
I'm just shocked that any Cub fan would wear his jersey after his performance the last four months. He's very quickly turning into the sober Todd Hundley.
Why don't you stop being so afraid to be labled "politically correct" and be honest. We know the reason why that Jersey is so popular. Its a about a bunch of frat boys making fun of a a man from some place in Asia . Man cubs fans are just morons
Gotta love those aptnonym jerseys: Pie, Wood, Grace, Hill, Lilly, Young, Brown, White, Rain, and King.
