Lisa Madigan Says What We Knew All Along

In today's "No Shit" story, Attorney General Lisa Madigan admitted that she is considering running for governor even as the next gubernatorial election is still two years away. She said she is "thinking about" making the run at the state's top office, where she'll likely face competition from, among others, Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias and Comptroller Dan Hynes.

Here's my prediction: Madigan will run for governor, Hynes will run for Attorney General, and Alexi will try to move up to comptroller. Of course, if Blago is indicted and convicted, and then resigns, Pat Quinn will be the incumbent, and all bets might be off. (Then the Republicans might have a chance, perhaps?)

Of course, Barack could win the presidency too, and then Blago might appoint Lisa to the Senate, just to get her out of the way.

@mss2400:

I always heard Duckworth bandied about for that job. Like with near certainty from some people.

Anyway, I want Giannoulias real bad, but I feel like it's going to be a clash of the titans with Madigan against Bill Daley.

Its funny how Ms. Lisa Lisa is starting the show some of the colors of her step father Mike Dog Madigan by trying to block Quiins call for a constitutional convention. Needless to say, I'm disapointed

As long as her dad is in the assembly, she should get NO votes. Too much power in one spot.
