- Police are investigating a sexual assault/robbery that occurred last night in Hyde Park. The suspect is described as "a black man, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet in height, weighing 200 pounds and wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and blue jeans." Surveillance footage available here.
- Two men were shot and wounded by an off-duty police officer in what appears ot be an attempted robbery on the city's Southwest Side.
- Charges have been dropped in two "cold cases" by Kane County prosecutors now that a witness in who was to testify in both cases has been murdered.
- A construction vehicle fell on a worker near the Shedd Aquarium this morning, crushing his legs. He was last reported in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
