Riley should also add to the ordinance that valet companys have to prove there employees have drivers lic. A valet with no D.L. strangely enough no ID at all hit one of my friends in a cross walk. The owner of the cars insurance paid the hosp bill but the valet never showed up to court.

Unfortunately, it's often quite a bit cheaper, often by half, to drive and valet, as opposed to taking a cab both ways. I found that out when I had a broken ankle this summer and cabbed to a place in Wicker Park that offered $10 valet. I probably spent between $20 and $25 on the cab both ways.

Yeah, I would never use a valet. If it's a fancy dinner out spring for a cab or car service. No worries about tickets, damage to the car or getting too soused to drive.

I've worked in a few restaurants and dealt with people who were livid when they found out they got tickets while the valets had their cars.
