Big Science w/ OFFICE, Think Hymns, Gold @ Schubas, 9:00 p.m., FREE - It's Week 2 in OFFICE's October Monday night residency, and we're happy to see our own Big Science sneaking onto one of the bills. Minimalist late 80s post-rock (think Replacements, Pixes, etc.) meets power pop and the occasional college quirk rock.

Saturday, Oct. 18

Horse In The Sea w/ Scattered Trees and Cheyenne @ Schubas - This winsome Chicago fivesome walks the rare side of folk music that's devoid of Americana. The touchpoints we hear are Travis, Richard Hawley, and even Nick Drake...decidedly non-Midwestern purveyors of quiet, achingly pretty pop.
