Yeah, because thousands of 15-year-olds who shoot people for no reason grow up into fine, upstanding, law-abiding members of society. It is truly sad when we seek to lock away young innocents who fire guns into grocery stores. Justice in this case would be for the Sameere Conn's parents to know that their child's violent death did not hinder the promising future of the murderer.

It's ridiculous that children that young get charged as adults. Neurology research shows that the parts of the brain that control planning, decision making, initiating appropriate actions, and inhibiting inappropriate actions are not fully developed until the early 20s. Quite simply, teenagers are not yet capable of making adult choices.

fed up,

Actually, it's not so far from the truth. I thought I remembered seeing 10 yr. olds being charged, but there are kids as young as 12 who have been charged as adults.

No need to call names either.

Ingrid, your ignorance is amazing 10 yo cant be charged as an adult. But its always fun to make an outrageous statement. 15& 16 year olds can be charged as adults in limited situations.

jennyblur,
I totally agree with you. I have seen some pretty young kids being charged as adults. How can you be 10 years old, commit a crime and get charged as an adult? It's preposterous!

I have a real problem with juveniles being charged as adults. You are constitutionally entitled to a jury of your peers. Erroneous.
