Considering the presidential race is pretty much locked up here in Illinois, we're at a loss for political commercials. (Thank goodness.) However, Congresswoman Jill Morgenthaler has created a poignant, if not humorous, ad taking on opponent Peter Roskam's position on "Right to Life Act." If a woman has in vitro fertilization in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a life? The two have previously butted heads over the essential issue of a soldier's right to view porn. [via Daily Kos]
Thanks, Blue Line

This should be forwarded to every woman you know who has had to go through the long and often heartbreaking process of in vitro.
It is truly appalling that Peter Roskam has spent his time legislating an extremist agenda while our country faces the most challenging economic crisis in recent history.
Blago crony and not living in the district you're running for are pretty big hurdles to overcome.
I might ad that it's also a heartbreaking to go through the process of getting an abortion. The wingers act like women do this as a lark. It's not a decision that anyone takes lightly.
Interesting stat: in republican administrations, abortion rates go up, opposite for democrat administrations.
Of course Roskam is busy identifying his opponent as a Blago insider, every IL GOPer who can will do so. He doesn't want to run on the issues or his voting record (which is deplorable).
Funny that he rarely talks about the time he spent as a staffer for Tom DeLay. Dubious.
Also - a little research shows that Morgenthaler actually lived in the district longer than Roskam. She was gerrymandered out when it was re-distrcted a few years ago. He moved out when he unsuccessfully challeged Rep. Biggert in the 13th.
All attempts to distract voters from the issues at stake this election year.
Well said Biko.
Willie Horton, Swift boat, gay marriage, terrorism, it's just there to obscure the fact the Right in this country is idea-poor.

Do you feel the same way when Obama cant give a speech without attempting to link Bush and Mcain?
