lincoln park hasn't *initiated* closing procedures. they are already closed, doors locked. i work for some midwives who do both home and hospital birth and over the weekend, the only services were ER (they wouldn't let her go up to labor and delivery).

they sent out notices about a day before they closed. one said that maternity services were suspended. the next day, it was just no go, and we're closing.

needless to say, this puts this office in a scramble to find places for women to have hospital births where the staff will be amenable to not shoving every possible intervention at the women, who have come here expressly to avoid such procedures.

it sucks, to be sure. i think that it was just irresponsible to give people no notice. they had to know that this was coming.

so, go to masonic or something if you're dying in lincoln park.

As of Wednesday, 1,474,208 people were registered to vote in Chicago, which will be the city's highest number of registered voters since 1992.

Really there is only 250,000 regestered voters the rest ACORN regestered 5-6times. Funny how the Obamist hasn't mentioned the storys of a Chicago based organization with deep ties to a chicago based canidate that is taking Chicago style voter fraud nationwide.

"Neighborhood busy bodies" ? Hey, I like a good nude as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't think of foisting my likes on someone else. I mean it's in the gallery's front window, right? It's not like they went inside, saw it in a back room and came out screaming, "There are nude photos in there!!! This must stop!!" If they want to walk down the street without seeing nude photography, I think they have that right. I personally don't give a shit, but since I'm not the only one living in this world...

Funny, McCain didn't seem troubled by ACORN's actions or reputation when he was a keynote speaker at an ACORN-organized event in 2006. http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=12439&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=22386&tx_ttnews[backPid]=12387&cHash=5706e23a2f

McCain seems to have forgot the golden rule, don't through rocks in glass houses.
