Evictions Start Again Monday

In the final chapter of the ongoing Tom Dart Eviction Saga, Sheriff Dart has said that with the new court procedures in place, he will resume evictions on Monday. Dart hopes the new orders will ensure that the banks will properly notify rent-paying tenants of foreclosures on the buildings they live in.

I feel like Dart's real motivation for the eviction thing wasn't covered enough. When it went national all it was was that he was stopping evictions. No one really ever bothered to explain that he was trying to protect tenants who pay their rent on time and are legally entitled to 90 days notice. I guess that's coming up now but before it made him look like some crazed maverick.

Because by Monday, of course everyone will have had that mandated 120 days notice.
