Huberman should be fired just for this shameless money grab.

His wants a police pension credit for his years of high-salary time behind a desk. Outrageous. What an insult to the officers who go out on the street every day to EARN their pensions.

And what an insult to the taxpayers that fund these pensions. Huberman has shown his true colors.

"That said, the city, at levels below department heads, does have a strong reputation of employing some seriously smart and relatively honest administrators."

True indeed, but I hear that when they get hired by The City, to their friends its like you never knew them, because they are terrified to say any thing besides how "great things are" And I hear they don't hang out any more or go to dinner parties because they are uncomforbable talking about sh*t, unless it stays on a very supperfical level. I'm not saying its "Nazi Germany" But I hear that there is a real level of fear in the work place that is promoted by the clouted
Royalty. And I'm talking fear about being told on, that causes under cutting, etc.

I love how Daley hires all these good government goo gooo liberal types to be the shinny squeaky face of his Public Thievery.

You nailed it.

That said, the city, at levels below department heads, does have a strong reputation of employing some seriously smart and relatively honest administrators. How much influence they have is questionable, I guess, but all its major problems and corruption, one can easily be amazed that Daley's city--and it is his city, not ours--has yet to truly fall apart, so perhaps there is some talent at work there.

I love how Daley hires all these good government goo gooo liberal types to be the shinny squeaky face of his Public Thievery. I was at a bar when I over heard two people talking about being at meeting with the Commissioner of the Department of Environment. These two people take the el five and the bus five days a week. Any way they continued on about how the CTA came up in a very neutral way ans the Commissioner started gushing about what a genius Huberman is. She,( according to them) would not shut up about it. It was( they said) embarrassing. The to make matters worse, she later bragged that she had a city car with free city parking! Man I don't know what I would have dead if I were their! Disgusting!

I hear that in city hall he has basically a fan club, every body talking about how cute he is, etc,

Chicago is the City that 'Works' It works on some serious, blatant, spleen tearing, in your face Charlie Murphy corruption.

I don't know what else to say.
