Of course you do, b/c one of those options if an irrational figment of your fucking imagination, like say Barack the terrorist.

Bombing building can actually get you killed, ask Bill's old girlfriend....you know Smurfette.

It used to be said that the first person to mention the Nazi's lost the debate.

Soon the same will be said about people that seek to desperately strengthen whatever they have to say by mentioning Bush and how evil he was pushing the buttons behind that big curtain.

Hit ctl-F and replace Bush with Gargamel on any of Ingrid's posts and you would have an episode of the Smurfs.

Who cares what they were when they were 20 years old?

If that were relevant, then Bush's hard drinking and partying ways would still be important. The fact that Cindy McCain stole drugs from the charity she worked at would still be important. The fact that McCain graduated at the very bottom of a class of almost 900 would still be important.

My God, McCain even admits in his autobiographies what a complete tool he was when he was young.

We have people running this country right now who are responsible for the slaughter of thousands of people, who condone torture and threw habeas out the window. THIS is relevant, it's happening NOW. This is what is frightening NOW.

What Ayers is doing NOW is what's important. What the criminals who are running this country are doing is affecting you and I NOW. What Ayers did decades ago is not influencing your life in any way.

he Weathermen were going after a racist imperialist power structure, not doctors providing healthcare services to women.

Too bad they did nothing to change policy, and seemed to have little skill beyond blowing each other up. What complete fucking failures they were. Odd for such bright kids (and connected, too, as Ayers was/is).

I call bullshit on them being a real revolutionary group. More like a group of bored--and relatively rich--kids who read a few books.

I wouldnt be opposed to that.

We could make the Anarchist Cookbook required reading.

Then again, I wouldnt want to bomb making tips from Bill Ayers. Hopefully Carlton from Fresh Prince will still be available for the position.

N Please,

Cut the bullshit, so any perceived injustice I feel like correcting with TNT-you are onboard with?

These guys were petty thugs that couldnt figure out how to wire a bomb to a casio keyboard.

And you bring up some bad examples: Washington-part of that racist imperialist power structure that felt like not sharing their profits with the motherland. FDR? WWII was about protecting/making empire, It was only after the war that the western world realized Empire wasnt worth it (Stalin didnt get the memo). And the Taliban? Actually pretty close to Ayers in the arrogance factor and dare ye disagree/you must die dept.

My original point was that we have become so petty in American politics, that we put up with scoundrels as long as they play for 'our team.' Its tribal now.

Chris,
yes they do and fyi, the Weathermen were going after a racist imperialist power structure, not doctors providing healthcare services to women.
Maybe if Americans were not being part of Nixon's "silent majority" the Weathermen would not have felt the need to resort to those tactics.

But hey, as you are clearly a member of the American Friend's Service Committee, I guess you would also lecture George Washington about taking up arms against the Brits or FDR for WWII, yea I'm sure you are consistent right?
Oh and of course this would include the Taliban after 9/11.

Spook,

Go to know you respect the Weathermen. And the above shows how much you have read about them and their cause. I would have bought it if you might have mentioned Southeast Asia or Imperialism.

This a group that protested the bombing of Laos, with what?....yeah more bombs. Way to take a stance against violence.....they have your respect, how very right-wing-abortion-clinic-bomber-minded of you.

Chris

If I may pick up where Navin left off. The fact that you equate Ayers with those that killed those three little girls says alot about what you read or lack there of. How very Joe Plumber of you.

I'm sure part of what drove the weathermen was the United State's policy of terrorism and assassinations directed at Africa, Asia the Middle East and Latin America as well as in the United States, so actually I have respect for the Weathermen

Being from Nebraska, I can say with some certainty there would be "safety concerns" should Mr. Ayers visit Lincoln. There are lots of angry 'necks where I'm from and most of them own guns. Sad as it is, it's not hard for me to imagine some "patriot" driving in from the sticks to take a shot at Professor Ayers. It wouldn't surprise me if there had already been threats of this kind. UNL did the right thing, I think.

It would to me, I mean the Weathermen never hurt anybody but themselves while trying to make a bomb and their targets weren't poor men women and children on the lowest wrung of society's ladder. However you feel about them they weren't targeting a powerless minority. They did a good job blowing up the police statue I suppose...

Lets face it, when a plumber cant even fix the leak, you know you are in trouble. While I think the Ayers think is a bit desperate, I wonder if the country would feel any different if Ayers had bombed a Black church in Mississippi during the same time period? Would it matter then?

Be interesting for America to actually put some time into studying what Ayers has been doing with respect to education to gleam what type of person he is, figure out why the The University of Nebraska invited him speak in the first place. But I guess that would be "unAmerican"
