"A McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter "B" scratched on her face in a politically inspired attack, police said Friday."

any body hear about this?!?

Obama did release medical records. Not a lot, but he did.

Same with McCain, he let reporters have 3 hours to go over thousands of pages of his records...not ALL of his records, and the reporters were not allowed to take notes, or have access to everything, but at least he released something.

There are still questions regarding the whole issue of this baby's parentage. And it would be such a very simple thing to prove one way or the other. So why doesn't she just do it?

She's not good at answering any questions (the latest debacle being the question asked by Brian Williams about whether or not she thinks that abortion clinic bombers and murderers are domestic terrorists) but this one about the baby seems to be an easy one. It's either hers or it's not.

Why doesn't Obama, either, for that matter? Or McCain?

From what I've been reading, the folks in Alaska are becoming more and more disenchanted with her everyday.

I think that she has had her day in the sun. If she decides to 'rear her head' in 2012, I am pretty sure that her fellow republicans will rip her to shreds anyway. That will be a cake walk for them.

What happened about the deposition that she and Todd were supposed to have yesterday? I have not seen anything about this.

And another thing, why won't she release her medical records?
She's only 44 and seemingly healthy...so what has she got to hide? Why not just release them and get it over with?

Palin knows this fantastic ride will all end on November 4th, so she's sucking it up for all she can, while she can.

Wish I believed that. Even if her ticket loses, she has rising start status in whatever becomes of the GOP. Like it or not, she has managed to charm millions of people and win over their loyalty. She's not going away for a while unless some scandal derails here.

Sometime in 2009, she'll make a martini, turn on Fox News, sit back in one of her fancy outfits, and start laughing at Obama - working his ass off in the Oval office - cleaning up Bush's mess. Go 'head girl, buy those outfits!

What bugs me is that McCain is touting a complete spending freeze and discounting Obama's plan to selectively cut programs, but in this interview Palin says that funding for special needs children will be exempt from the freeze.

Huh?

It's not that Palin waves the hockey-mom-joe-sixpack-real-Americans-vs.-liberal-elite flag and then gets a $150,000 wardrobe. I couldn't care less how much her red jacket costs. It's her hypocritical finger-pointing at everyone else as elite and then hauling off to the Minneapolis Neiman Marcus to drop $75,000 on clothes. AND IT'S NOT EVEN HER OWN MONEY!!! That plus the free trips for her kids, the collecting a $17,000 per diem for living in HER OWN HOUSE and not paying a dime of taxes on it... And then to have people like Michael Sneed defend her in yesterday's column as this poor put-upon Mom who heads a one-income family who is practically feeding her family Hamburger Helper every night. Never mind Todd's $67,000 he earned last year while claming so many deductions that he only claimed $15,000 in net profits.

That pretty much does it for me...

Clinton got slammed for tying up air traffic to get a haircut. Edwards coif was often a subject of fun. I do think it's silly how female politicians have to talk about their clothes and hair and make-up and babies. But painting yourself as a simple hockey-mom and then dropping six figures (50 grand more than her salary) on a wardrobe is going to get some eye-rolls.

Add to that her 7 year old hauling around a (fake) Louis Vuitton bag? Yeah, Palin is comedy gold.

What irks me to no end about this wardrobe debacle, is NOT the fact that she spent bozo bucks of RNC money on her clothes.

It's the fact that she presented herself to the public as this Wal-mart ordinary Joe-ella Hockey-mom who now deigns it necessary to clothe herself in $5,000 jackets and Manolo shoes. It's the blatant hypocrisy.

And for anyone to suggest that she was roped into this by the campaign should read about how, when she was on SNL, did not want to wear the wardrobe that the costume designers had picked out for her. They were not "up to her standards". So, I guess what's good enough for Tina Fey is not good enough for Caribou Barbie.
They tried to explain to her that she needed to match Tina Fey for the skit.

It also bothers me that Edwards gets nailed for that haircut (and I did think that it was ridiculous too, you don't need to spend $300 on a frikking haircut, but if you're going to nail him, why not nail Palin too?) which was pennies compared to this wardrobe. But the spin doctors make it look like this $150,000 is nothing. They decry that we're all talking about clothes when the economy is tanking? Oh the hypocrisy!!!!! And...oh...yeah...they're going to donate the clothes to charity.

So, who's going to explain to Piper that her little Louis Vuitton purse has to go?

Navin: On that note, you might like an article in a recent New Yorker that details how, a few years ago, important members of the conservative media, who often take lecture cruises together to Alaska, first met Palin, and how those big boys with their big ideas--Kristol, for instance--all but drooled over what some see as her beauty. Embarrassing, expect that nothing seems embarrassing for the GOP anymore. The story also shows how Palin a few years ago starting kissing the collective asses of the DC elite, despite her bullshit image as some sort of populist conservative.

Ward: Obamedia. Huh. Good one. Haven't heard it before. Perhaps you can get a gig writing for the Onion.

I could care less about her expensive wardrobe her real-life political views are backwards enough. And big lols @ her trying to bring in the "double standard" as a way to deflect from the fact that she's a dimwit and an empty suit. Hilary faced sexism for sure but she's also intelligent and unafraid to engage the media on issues unlike Palin who's just a puppet reading cue cards responses pre-written for her.

Yes, I can't believe I'm praising Hilary either.

Didn't Edwards get busted for having a $300 haircut? How does that compare to a $2200 make-up stylist? And wasn't there a scandal once about linton having his hair cut on an airport jetway in LA?

Seems like (for once) the double standard isn't double.

The Obamedia wants to do all it can to elect its hero.

That means going after the "mean" Republicans however they can. They accuse Palin of being dumb while it is Joe Biden who has made boneheaded comments repeatedly.

The Obamedia loves that "Barbie" label.

Palin did make a mistake in listening to the "experts" on the Republican National Committee about the need for the $150,000 wardrobe. That is just one more reason for Republicans to be disappointed with the RNC and the blunderers in the McCain campaign.
