Burge Pleads Not Guilty, Trial Date Set

In a move that surprised absolutely no one, former Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge pled not guilty this morning to charges of obstruction of justice and perjury in connection to alleged cases of police torture. May 11 was set as the trial date by U.S. District Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow. Mayor Daley has yet to issue any statement on this latest development, sassy or otherwise, but we can save you the time and boil it down to this ahead of time: "It wasn't my fault!"

this guy is so overdue, i can't even tell you.

I hope he beats the charge. Seriously. God bless'em.

Meanwhile, when I hear stories of some thug killing a 7 year old boy, I remember that a cat like burge would have had the body, the weapons, and the confession in just under 45 minutes.

Riiiiiiiiiight, except that instead of the guy they have in custody now, he'd have someone he grabbed off the street. Sign, sealed, delivered and a bit worse for wear. Pay no attention to the bruises, burns and cuts.

lulz....

Sorry Bunny, it just ain't the case. Every last one of those convicts who claims to have been tortured was absolutely, positively guilty.

I knew I'd sniff out at least one person around here who takes the words of some of the worst criminals in the city over a highly decorated police officer.

Oooooo looky. I just remembered I had this:
