Morning Box Score

Bulls Top Bucks In Opener
The Bulls got off to a winning start last night with a 108-95 victory over their neighbors to the north, the Milwaukee Bucks. Luol Deng paced the Bulls with 21 points. The big story of the night was the debut of #1 pick Derrick Rose who had a decent debut with 11 points, 9 assists, and 4 rebounds. Said new Bulls coach Vinny del Negro, "He's beating himself up over the four turnovers. He's a rookie and he's happy we won the game. That shows the character of the kid, and you can work with people like that." Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich had solid performances off the bench with 18 and 15 points, respectively.

Blackhawks Lose To Minnesota
The Blackhawks fell to the Minnesota Wild 3-2 on Monday (sorry we missed it!). Patrick Sharp netted his sixth goal of the season to open up the scoring, but the Wild scored three straight to take a lead they would never relinquish. This in spite of the fact that the 'Hawks had twice as many shots as the Wild (36-18).

I think the Hawks are suffering from the same thing that strickened the Bulls last year...too much hype, too much pressure.
