Studs to Obama: "Don't Worry About Universal Healthcare!"

Studs Terkel is a national treasure and one of Chicago's crown jewels. So with all the punditry and talking heads why did it take so long for someone to ask him what he thought of the Obama race towards the presidency? Edward Lifeson, who usually blogs about architecture at Hello Beautiful, called Studs Terkel to talk Presidential politics (which, presumably, isn't the hardest conversation to start) over at the Chicago branch of the Huffington Post.

Not surprisingly, lifelong leftist rabblerouser Studs is pro-Obama. But there are a number of other nuggets of awesomeness in the post - for example, Studs suggests that Obama not mess around with universal health care - for now:

I'd ask Obama, do you plan to follow up on the program of the New Deal of FDR? I'd tell him, 'don't fool around on a few issues, such as health care. We've got bigger work to do! Read FDR's second inaugural address!'

The free market has to be regulated. And the New Deal did that and they provided jobs. The government has to. The WPA provided jobs. We have got to get back to that. We need more reg-u-la-tion.

Much more over at ChiHuffPo, but we just wanted to highlight this:

I was just watching Alan Greenspan, he's an idiot, and by the way, so was Ayn Rand!

What would it take to get Studs a regular slot on Rachel Maddow? Anyone want to start a petition?
