Does anyone have any idea on how strict they are going to be with IDs? I stupidly put a my maiden name on my rally ticket even though my id has my married name (I'm getting divorced). Do you think if I can show I'm the same person, they'll still let me in?????

I JUST received my ticket to Obama's rally today. Not sure why it was delayed, but it's legit (from info@barackobama.com). So check your email!

I have been asked to provide my ID in every election, including the primary and aldermanic run-off election. It's Chicago... I would be worried if they didn't ask me for ID. After all, this is the land of "vote early and vote often."

They asked for my ID because apparently my signature didn't look similar enough to the one they had on file.

Long time reader, first time poster. I'm in the 11th ward, and they didn't ask for ID. I must admit, though - this is the first time I haven't had at least one problem at a polling place in years. Lines were sort of long, but that was expected. I was happy to see such a great turnout.

You can ask for ID, but neither ID nor a voter card is required unless the voter form specifically states so, which is generally for new voters registered by mail or on the street, or for inactive voters.

They asked for my ID in the 36th Ward. Said it was to check the spelling of the street I lived on. Which the judge was apparently unfamiliar with. Even though it's only about five blocks from the polling place. Interesting.

Let me check up on that, but I believe they are allowed to check IDs, but as long as you have am officially issued voter registration card, and ID is not required to vote.

A coworker said they were checking IDs in Kane County. Are they allowed to do that?
