Trib Has to Print More Papers

As Chicagoans rush out to get that commemorative front page, the Chicago Tribune is printing an additional 200,000 copies that will be distributed at 7-11 stores throughout the city. Many places are running out of copies as residents get their own to mark the historic election of Illinois Senator Barack Obama. The need for more papers is also being seen in New York where more copies of the New York Times are being printed; likewise, papers in Detroit, D.C., and Atlanta are running extra editions.

the 7-11 by my house was out of sun times at 8:30 this morning. according to the cashier, the trib had thought ahead and delivered extra to the store right off the bat.

I found the tribune easy, but no NYT in Chicago. Any word on whether they are reprinting nationally, or just in New York City?

The Sun-Times has made up for its initial mistake. I have seen tons of extra editions being delivered downtown.

On a related note: add the Charlotte Observer to the list of papers reprinting around the country. I hope my mom saved me a copy down there!
