Some news coming in...
- Several news outlets are now reporting that it's official: Rahm Emanuel has called Pelosi to accept the Chief of Staff Job.
- MSNBC is also reporting that Obama has been declared the winner in North Carolina, bringing his final Electoral College vote win to 364 - 173.
- ABC News is reporting President-Elect Obama will announce his economic team tomorrow.
- Alabama native (woo! go home state!) Robert Gibbs has been tabbed as the new White House Press Secretary.
- It's getting ugly now for former McCain aides, who are going public with such nuggets as Palin's not knowing what countries were involved in NAFTA or knowing Africa was a continent.

Stroger Makes Hollywood Play

Oh the long knives are OUT for Palin. I always figured her choice was a slow explosion going off in the campaign, but this is just delightful.
My political fantasy? Palin pulls the hard-line neo-con thumb-brains (Jesus freaks and gubbermint haters) out of the party. You get a new generation of socially moderate, fiscally conservative republicans (think Jim Edgar) who aren't just about Abortion and "The gays" coming to the fore. You'd have discussion and compromise, actual governance and less factionalism. We'd likely lose at least one if not two of the cable news nets as politics becomes more about issues and getting things done and less about noise. Meanwhile Palin and the neo-cons drumbeat further and further into obscurity.
Fantasyland, but hey, who knows.
