How Did The Wards Vote?

We're still trying to track down the Trib graphic they used, but The Beachwood Reporter outlines some of the interesting area election results, broken down by ward, of which McCain won none.

Interesting stuff, especially interesting to see the ward that delivered the least votes considering the neighborhoods within it.. hmm.

I live (and voted) in the 12th Ward, and from some quick research, I would guess that the low numbers for Obama there are due not to any significant pro-McCain sentiment, but simply to the fact that the 12th Ward has one of the lowest voter registration rates in the city -- I found figures between 30% and 36% throughout the 1990s. (Couldn't find more recent data, though I didn't search for long.) The fact that many 12th Ward residents are not US citizens probably goes a long way in explaining this.

My own experience this year seems to be in accord with the data -- I didn't have to wait in line to vote at all.
