<description>&lt;p&gt;I live (and voted) in the 12th Ward, and from some quick research, I would guess that the low numbers for Obama there are due not to any significant pro-McCain sentiment, but simply to the fact that the 12th Ward has one of the lowest voter registration rates in the city -- I found figures between 30% and 36% throughout the 1990s. (Couldn&apos;t find more recent data, though I didn&apos;t search for long.) The fact that many 12th Ward residents are not US citizens probably goes a long way in explaining this. 

My own experience this year seems to be in accord with the data -- I didn&apos;t have to wait in line to vote at all.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
