- A Lincoln Park High student is suing for his right to transfer to another school after the school board has rejected previous attempts. The student was the victim of an unprovoked attack in October, being beaten by nine other students who all still attend the school. Chicago Public Schools allow "safety transfers" for similar situations but for some reason have repeatedly rejected this request
- Nothing strikes fear in our hearts quite like this sentence: "City of Evanston Health and Human Services officials declared an official outbreak of Pertussis [aka Whooping Cough]."
- Sen. Dick Durbin briefly addressed a crowd of reporters yesterday and talked about the recent death of his oldest child, Christine. Durbin said, "It's a reminder that politics has its limits. Life goes on, life and death, and…your family is the most important thing."
- On to happier news, Belleville native Astronaut Sandra Magnus will lift off into space on Friday onboard the shuttle Endeavor. She previously went up in 2002 in the shuttle Atlantis.
- Congratulations are in order to Acme Missionary Baptist Church whose choir was named the best in the nation last weekend at a contest in Atlanta. The church also pockets a $25,000 prize.
- And, finally, (though we'll believe it when we see it) it looks like that Arrested Development movie is a-go, at least according to Jeffrey Tambor.

Stroger Makes Hollywood Play

Well if one were to believe Entourage, Jeffrey Tambor is looking for any sort of work he can find these days, so of course he says the AD movie is a go!
Acme Missionary Baptist Church. Best church name ever.
Acme Missionary Baptist Church? That's the one Wile E. Coyote used to attend, isn't it?
I'm shocked they beat out Momcorp Presbyterian.
Whopping cough is SO last year. . . I actually got it at the age of 26, and was quarintined for two weeks for fear of spreading it. Actually, it was pretty awful, I didn't sleep for two weeks waking up all night with constant coughing spasms (just like asthma attacks). It really wore me out!
Also, jsut to note, I did have shots for whooping cough as a kid. They found last year, that the shots seemed to wear off 12-18 years later, meaning even if you were vaccinated, you are not immune. They have released a new shot, of which I HIGHLY recommend. This was probably the sickest I have ever been in my life.
this kind of stuff terrifies me. i really shouldn't watch movies like The Omega Man or Outbreak so late at night...
