Free Show: Titus Andronicus and No Age

2008_11_titus_andronicus.jpgWe really like the sloppy Springsteen-punk of Titus Andronicus. Their debut, The Airing of Grievances, is chock-full of Springsteen-ian anthems fueled by snotty punk speed-freakery. Their self-titled anthem kicks off with drums that sound like Phil Spector manning a cell-phone recorder before exploding into a seriously distorted harmonica and finishing with the band injecting an optimistic fervor into the nihilistic refrain of "your life is over."

So imaging how excited we were to learn that not only are they swinging back through Chicago next week, the show they are playing is FREE! They'll be appearing with No Age at Reggies on Tuesday November 18 at 7 p.m. The only catch? You've got to RSVP for tickets through ShockHound. Don't worry, it's relatively painless ... but we recommend you do it now because other shows on this little tour have totally sold out.

Get yer tickets now.

UPDATE: Aw crap, it just sold out. But we've been told that they may be releasing more tickets, so keep checking.

Anyone need a date for next Tuesday? I'm happily married, but willing open to entertaining offers while enjoying a night of rawk at Reggies.
