so ... thanks to the fare increase they expect a drop in ridership. why do i already hear Huberman telling us in 6 to 8 months from now ... "due to the drop in ridership, we need to hike fares as we don't have enough money ..."

Overall, the CTA expects to lose 17 million rides thanks to the fare increase. So in other words, any increase in revenue achieved through the fare restructuring will be negated by the anticipated drop in ridership. Perfect.
